The diagnostic facilities offered by the hospital are most comprehensive which include Laboratory services, Imaging, Cardiology, Neurology and Pulmonology.

Hinduja Hospital has fully automated Laboratory Medicine Department and is the First Hospital Laboratory in India to be Accredited by the College of American Pathologists.

The Laboratory services are available round the clock. The services include biochemistry, haematology, microbiology, serology, histopathology, transfusion medicine and RIA. The Laboratory offers over 500 different types of tests some of which are exclusive. The Laboratory also offers an emergency / Stat menu of tests with a very short turn around time. Stringent quality assurance exercises in the department ensures reliable and high quality test results. The department participates in International Quality Control programme conducted by the College of American Pathologists, WHO & National Quality Control Programme where it has achieved and maintained a high ranking consistently for a number of years.

Imaging is a key function of the diagnostic facility at the hospital. The department offers a gamut of services ranging from General Radiography, Ultra Sonography, and Mammography to high end services like Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Spiral CT Scanning, and Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) along with interventional procedures and Nuclear Imaging.



Technology Upgrade

The hospital keeps upgrading its technology by acquiring new state-of-the-art diagnostic & therapeutic equipment. Hinduja Hospital was the First in India to acquire the Gamma Knife - gold standard in Radio surgery, a non - invasive neurosurgical tool. In keeping with the quest for continuous improvement in quality and technological advancement, the hospital was the first to acquire The Twin Speed MRI, a revolutionary technology in neurovascular and cardiology imaging. The Oncology Services are holistic & complete with the addition of the Linear Accelerator with Multileaf Collimator (MLC) & Micro MLC. The Nuclear Medicine has also acquired the Gamma Camera / PET Scan which redefines the treatment in cancer management, orthopaedics, neurology and cardiology. Hinduja Hospital has recently acquired the GE Volume Light Speed CT, which captures images of the heart in just 5 heart beats at the speed of light. To enhance the specialized services in Invasive Cardiology, the hospital has installed the GE-INNOVA 2000 Cath Lab machine for better visibility of blood vessels, in the procedures carried out. The Radial Lounge, the First of its kind in India, is a unique concept for carrying out Coronary Angiography and Angioplasty procedure. In support of the Nephrology services at the hospital, a new state of the art AKD (Advance Kidney Dialysis) department has been setup to provide the best of care for dialysis patients.



Surgery

The Hospital’s main thrust areas in surgery are Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic surgery and Orthopaedic surgery. Operation theatres (O.T) are dedicated for these surgeries. Every operation theatre is complete with an attached recovery room, constant positive air pressure supply, total environment control and an alert team of trained medical and nursing staff. An Acute Post Operative Pain Service managed by the Anaesthetists is also available.

Critical Care Units

The Critical Care unit is managed by highly qualified intensivists. Critical care beds are distributed over the Intensive Coronary Care Unit (ICCU), Intensive Surgical Care Unit (ISCU), Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Emergency Intensive Care unit (EICU). Each critical care bed is equipped with a highly sophisticated cardiac monitoring system, infusion and syringe pumps, oxygen supply and pressure for suction. The critical care unit is equipped with ventilators, defibrillators as life support systems.

Handling Emergencies

The Accident and Emergency Department of the Hospital is recognised by the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. The department has dedicated beds for trauma care and special operation theatres for minor surgeries. A fully equipped Cardiac Ambulance Service is available round the clock and is manned by a team comprising of a doctor, nurse and paramedics.
