With a goal of improving the Corneal donation services in the city of Bombay and surrounding areas, she co-ordinated the setting up of the Eye Bank Co-ordination and Research Centre, under the joint auspices of National Association of Blind,Maharashtra Society for Donation of Eyes and International Federation of Eye Banks, U.S.A. This Eye Bank is one of the five in India, which is recognized and affiliated to the International Federation of Eye and Tissue Banks, U.S.A. She has been nominated to the District Blindness Control Society by the National Association of Blind. This centre evaluates, stores and distributes Human Corneal tissue as per the highest international standards of the Tissue Banks International, Baltimore, USA , and provides tissue for transplant and training to eye surgeons in and around Mumbai.
