Female Infertility

Home > Treatments > Female Infertility

Medically, a couple is considered to be infertile if they are unable to conceive even after one to one-and-half years of unprotected sexual intercourse. A female factor is the primary cause in approximately 40% of these couples and another 30-40% is pure male factor. A combination of male and female factors accounts for the remaining 20% to 30% of cases. Hence it is imperative that infertility is addressed as a “couple issue"

This section seeks to educate about female infertility. However, in all cases, it is imperative that the male partner is investigated as well. (Please refer our section on Male Infertility for more information)
