Student Nurses Association

The students have an active and vibrant SNA with elected leaders and office bearers. Our Principal is the Hon. President and faculty aid as advisers. Festivals are celebrated with gusto. Cultural events picnics and competitions are organized through the year. Many of the students compete and bring laurels in competitions held at city and state levels.


School Magazine

The school Magazine - Glimpses- was launched in the year 2000 at the annual Lamp Lighting and Graduation ceremony of the school. It features articles, poems, interviews, reports and stories contributed by students & faculty.


Ongoing - Continuing education

Trauma Workshop- A well -planned workshop is organized for final year students to acquaint them with concepts of Disaster Management and help develop awareness of emergency nursing

1) Information Technology- Students undergo formal training in basics of computer technology by In-house faculty

2) Critical Care Nursing- A short-term education programme in the clinical specialty areas like Critical Care Nursing, Operating Room Nursing is offered to all our graduates.

3) Results and Awards

The Maharashtra Nursing Council holds examinations state wide at the end of each academic year.The school has an enviable record of 100% results each year with maximum first classes, distinctions and even a few state ranks. Students with academic merits are awarded silver medals.

The Lalita Girdhar Hinduja Gold Medal

Each year the "Best outgoing student" receives a Gold medal instituted by the Hinduja family in the loving memory of late. Mrs. Lalita Girdhar Hinduja. The student is selected on the basis of an objective and comprehensive evaluation by members of the faculty.

Special projects

Rural School health programme- The 3rd year students organized a health checkup camp for school students at the Parol village where health assessment, diagnosis of diseases and treatment was prescribed.


Admissions

About 30 female students are admitted in August each year based on following criteria- Over 17 years of age
1) Passed Higher secondary/ Equivalent in first attempt with minimum stipulated marks
2) Feature in Merit List at Entrance Exam
3) Medical Fitness
4) The process starts in April each year and the students are selected by the first week of July.


News & Events

Workshop in Education- A two day workshop was organised by the school for Nursing leaders and educators from all over themetropolis and suburbs on the theme- "Nursing Education- A Millennium approach", on 13 and 14th of August 2001.
