Dr. Vinay Joshi is a multifaceted medical person. He is not only an astute clinician and a physician of repute, but also a pioneer of rheumatology in India, an accomplished teacher, writer, editor and a researcher.
His desire to be a doctor with a view to help patients stems from his father who was a well-known medical practitioner in a taluka place. His practice of medicine is a reflection of his exemplary father and teachers at Government Medical College, Nagpur.
In recognition of his medical services, he has been a recipient of many honours, notable amongst them being the "Karmayogi Puraskar", "Life-time achievement" Award in Rheumatology" and Honorary Rheumatologist to the Governor of Maharashtra

He loves teaching. Over the years he has taught undergraduate, postgraduates in medicine and rheumatology imparting knowledge and clinical skills. He has been an active participant in teaching activities of physicians & rheumatologists all over India through conferences, seminars, guest lectures, and CMEs etc.
Another facet of his personality is medical journalism. He has authored several research papers, and chapters in medical text books, and updates and has been an editor of medical journals, text-books and monographs in medicine and rheumatology. He has edited two video films and a slide compendium in rheumatology.
His extra-curricular interests include sports, literature, photography and music.
Happily married with two daughters, his future plans include community service & patient education.
