P. D. Hinduja Hospital & MRC is the FIRST HOSPITAL in India to win the IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Awards (RBNQA) for the year 2007.

Bajaj Award WinnerThe IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Awards named after the Head of the Bajaj Group of companies, Sri. Ramkrishna Bajaj, was instituted in 1996 to give special recognition to excellence in organisations.

There are six applicant categories for the IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award – Manufacturing, Service, Small Businesses, Overseas Organisations, Education and Health Care.

P. D. Hinduja Hospital JOINS the ILLUSTRIOUS LEAGUE OF GLOBAL INDUSTRIAL GIANTS like Infosys Technologies (Bangalore), Satyam Computer Services (Secunderabad), Reliance Industries (Hazira), Birla Cellulosic, Unit of Grasim Industries (Kharach), Tata Chemicals - Chemicals Division, (Mithapur), Bharat Heavy Electricals, Boiler Auxiliaries Plant (Ranipet), I-flex solutions (Mumbai), PT Elegant Textile Industry (Jakarta) etc.

A panel of 5 judges from different fields examined the systems and the organisation for over two days, after which, a formal award ceremony followed in March.

The Award Criteria lays emphasises on openness and transparency in governance and ethics - the need to create value for customers and the business, and the challenges of rapid innovation and capitalizing on knowledge assets.

The organisation undergoes vigorous evaluation not just the on the quality of a particular service or product, but an entire spectrum of parameters like - Leadership, Customer Focus, HR, Process Management & Knowledge Management, Strategic Planning, Customer and Market Focus, Measurement and Analysis Management and Business Results, by a panel of specially trained and recognised experts that do extensive research on the organisation for over a period of one and half months and benchmark it with the competitors.

Winning the RBNQA was the culmination of the tremendous effort the team at the P. D. Hinduja Hospital put in while implementing the world-class practices across the organisation.

Winning this award reinforces the organisation's resolve in aligning with the mission, vision and philosophy to continue being world-class and providing quality healthcare for all.

The IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award (IMC RBNQA) are along the lines of the Malcolm Baldrige criteria of the USA and follow rigorous process of training and evaluation.
