One gains weight they consume more calories than the body burns.

2. How do I loose weight?
Losing weight is about burning more calories than you eat, to burn these calories you have to exercise, build muscle mass, and eat sensibly.

3. Are my hormones responsible for my weight gain/loss?
Yes. Hormones do play a role in weight control and appetite.

4. Which hormones lead to weight gain/loss?
Many Hormones like thyroid hormones, cortisol and appetite hormones can play a role in weight gain/loss.

5. Is thyroid the main cause of weight gain?
NO. Most people who gain weight have normal thyroid function.

6. Taking thyroid medicine can help reduce weight?
Only if weight gain was due to significant hypothyroidism which is rare.

7. Is diet the only way to reduce weight?
Yes in combination with increased fitness & muscle mass.

8. Why do I gain weight when I leave dieting?
Because calorie balance has changed and internal food habits have not changed.

9. How to lose weight the healthy way?
The only way to lose weight healthily and keep it off is to make permanent changes to the way you eat and exercise. One needs to be more mindful.

10. Are all kinds of diet good for health?
Some diets can make you ill especially crash diets which make you loose muscle and bone. Once you regain weight after a crash diet you gain it as FAT.
