Dr. Ashwini Bhalerao Gandhi  is a Full time Hospital Based Consultant in Gynaecology with P. D. Hinduja National Hospital and Research Center, Mahim, Mumbai since 20 years. She has more than 36 years of clinical experience. She is also attached to P. D. Hinduja Hospital, Khar.

In her previous appointments she served as Associate Professor and Examiner of PG & UG programmes in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at T.N. Medical College & B.Y.L. Nair Hospital, Mumbai.

She has to her credit many publications in indexed journals and she has edited various publications. She has authored and co-authored many chapters in books. She has many presentations as a speaker, resource person and faculty at various conferences, workshops and seminars. She also has held positions of Chairperson in various committees, like MOGS, FOGSI, MMS, etc.

She is actively involved in various aspects of Social Obstetrics and Gynaecology and has contributed towards Community-projects for women,

  • Human Lactation Management & Breast Feeding – Resource person for  workshops organised by MOGS, FOGSI, UNICEF, MBPI, BPNI; Assessor for Baby friendly Hospital initiative.
  • Safe Motherhood & Child Survival Programme - Regional Trainer for workshops organised by the Public Health Department of Brihan Mumbai Mahanagar Palika
  • Reproductive Health - National trainer for workshops organised by FOGSI, UNICEF, Asia-Oceana Federation of Obst & Gynaec Societies; Invited to attend the workshop for Training of Educationalists on RH organised by AOFOG at Colombo, Sri Lanka-1997
  • HIV & AIDS - Core Trainer for workshops organised by PSM Department and MDACS
  • Adolescent Reproductive Health - Key trainer for workshops organised by UNICEF, Public Health Department, PSM Department of KEM Hospital, FPA India; Devised & conducted 3 audiovisual programs for girls & boys - Growing up, Smart Diet for Teens, and It’s time we talk.Organized 3 orientation programs supported by FOGSI, Govt. of India & WHO on Adolescent Friendly Health Services.
