P.D. Hinduja Hospital has been authorized by the government to provide Covid-19 vaccination . Here is some information regarding the vaccination.

Who's eligible for vaccination now?

The government is opening up vaccination for the citizens on India in phases. Currently as per the government regulations, the following are eligible for vaccinations

  1. Citizens above the age of 45
  2. Healthcare Workers (HCW's) and Front-line (FLW's) workers not covered pending yet (missed out or left out)

Can I register directly at P.D. Hinduja Hospital?

No, you cannot register directly at P.D. Hinduja Hospital. If you fit in the above age and health criteria you need to register your name via the COWIN app or website (www.cowin.gov.in). Once you have registered your number, you need to choose P.D. Hinduja Hospital as your choice of vaccination centre and selected your preferred date as per availability.

Can I decide a slot for vaccination?

Once you have booked your appointment at P.D. Hinduja Hospital, we will inform you of your time slot one day prior to the scheduled appointment date via SMS.

Which vaccine will I be given?

You shall be given the vaccination as decided by the government. There are no options to choose for beneficiaries.

What documents should I carry during the day of the vaccination?

You need to carry AADHAR and / or any other id document submitted during the time of registrations as your id proof. Healthcare workers and frontline workers need to carry an employment certificate or an official Identity card, with photo and date-of-birth.

Will I be given a certificate or document at the vaccination centre?

No. The certificate will automatically be reflected on the Aarogyasetu, Digilocker or Cowin app. It may also be sent to you via sms link.

In case of change in date of vaccination, do I need to inform the vaccination centre?

No. You will have the option to reschedule the appointment only until 24 hours prior to the vaccination day , on the Cowin app only.

What are the common side effects of taking a vaccine?

After getting vaccinated, the most common side effects are pain and swelling in the arm where you received the shot. In addition, you may have fever, chills, tiredness, and headache.

What are charges for vaccination?

As specified by the government, the charges for vaccination are Rs. 250 /-. You may pay on-line or at the hospital when you come for vaccination.

Where do I need to come at hospital for vaccination?

Our Covid vaccination centre is located at Hinduja Clinic (OPD building 3rd floor, wing no. 4)

What about booking for the second dose?

As per government guidelines, covid vaccine beneficiaries are now required to schedule 2nd dose appointment on their own through COWIN portal as per their convenience. For COVISHIELD the 2nd dose is to be taken at 4-8 weeks after 1st dose ; current scientific evidence suggests enhanced protection at 6-8 weeks interval. For COVAXIN the 2nd dose is to be taken at 4-6 weeks after 1st dose only. P.D. Hinduja Hospital, Mahim will open slots at least 48hrs in advance. Please book through COWIN & you will receive reporting time intimation from us.

Do I need to book at my second dose at the same centre as the first?

No, beneficiaries can choose the centre of their choice for the second dose.
