Mumbai, June 22, 2019: P.D. Hinduja Hospital & MRC in association with Confederation of Indian Industry and Skill India hosted a conclave on ‘Skilling India - Skilling for Healthier India’ on 22nd June, 2019. Globally, organizations have gained an understanding that talent is not developed in isolation but is the collective effort of diverse skill sets and continuous dedication towards maintaining and enhancing expertise. With a similar thought process, P.D. Hinduja Hospital & MRC organized a conclave and a panel discussion that aimed to introduce an integrated approach towards developing well-trained medical professionals.

P.D. Hinduja Hospital & MRC, has always believed that quality healthcare starts with well-trained healthcare professionals. The demand and supply gap for skilled professionals in the allied health sciences area is huge and the hospital is committed to addressing this gap with niche courses and skill development programs. Under Allied Health Sciences, the hospital provides courses for Advanced Medical Laboratory Technician, Critical Care Technician, Dialysis Technician, Operation Theatre and Anesthesia Technician, Radiology Technician Certificate, etc. The duration of these courses is one year and is open for H.Sc pass/ Graduates depending on their desired specialization.

Addressing the conclave Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee IAS, Secretary, Medical Education & Drugs Department, GOM said, “There is a shortage of trained allied health professionals in the field of healthcare, it is therefore imperative for us to collaborate and introduce courses that can adequately address this shortage by imparting knowledge on diverse and niche skills sets. Curriculums need to be revisited and designed basis the challenges that we are facing today, apart from this we also need to collectively work towards setting high standards for healthcare deliverables in India, putting us on par with the best in global healthcare practices.”
