Living Will Clinic
Everyone wants to lead a happy, healthy life till the end. But given life’s uncertainties, what if someone was faced with a chronic or terminal illness, where one is not able to communicate one’s healthcare choices on life support treatments?
Advance Care Planning (ACP) helps you plan for your treatment decisions for such situations. ACP is a process here you reflect on your values, discuss your healthcare preferences and your choices for future medical care. It ensures that your wishes are known and respected, even if you are unable to communicate them in future. This is done through a Living Will. A Living Will is a legal document where you can state your preferences for medical treatment in such specific situations. It empowers you to maintain control over your healthcare decisions.
The Living Will Clinic at P. D. Hinduja Hospital has a dedicated team of consultants who spend time with you and your family (if you desire) and explain in detail, the significance as well as the entire process. You will receive comprehensive guidance and counselling on various aspects of Living Will including:
- When does the Living Will come into play: The clinic helps you understand the criteria for activating the Living Will.
- Medical Power of Attorney: Who will make your healthcare choices if you are unable to make them.
- Personalized Guidance: The clinic helps you explore your preferences and options.
- Documentation: Understand the paperwork needed in creating a Living Will or advance directive
- Family Discussions: It facilitates conversations with your loved ones
